He keeps himself looking presentable, even when doing the dirtiest of jobs. But he won’t complain if he gets dirty. He stands the tallest of the O’Neal siblings, being close to six feet, and everyone in the family puts it down as Camelus getting it from his father’s side of the family.

_history: Camelus was born two years after his twin sisters were born and grew up tagging along after them. He watched them have their spark of magic at the age of three and four. Being the youngest of the siblings, Camelus seemed to have more freedom than his siblings, even though they all had about the same. By the time he was six, Camelus’ parents worried that he didn’t have the spark of magic that Adelaide and Aiah had, but he proved them wrong at the age of seven when he had found Alec’s broom and managed to take off on it outside one day. Both parents had their work cut out for them trying to explain to their muggle neighbors what happened that day.

At the age of nine, Camelus took his first trip to King’s Cross and Platform 9 ¾ when Adelaide and Aiah began their first year at Hogwarts. Not wanting to be left out, he had begged their parents to let him go too, but they refused with the excuse that he was too young to go just yet. But on the way home, they stopped in at Diagon Alley and Camelus was allowed to pick out his pet that he would be allowed to take with him to Hogwarts when he started in two years. He chose a small owl (think like Pig that Ron got from Sirius), and named it Hermes after the Greek god.

The next two school years were quiet at the O’Neal house with just Camelus being home, but that didn’t mean he wasn’t sitting at home doing nothing. He spent those two years in muggle school and spending time with his muggle and wizarding friends. Finally, the summer before the twin’s third year, Camelus received his Hogwarts acceptance letter. Of course it came when Sirius was loose and on the run looking for Harry. Camelus went with the warning not to do anything reckless, and if Sorted in with either of his sisters, to be mindful of what they do and not do what they do (depending on what House he went to).
Camelus worried about being Sorted in Slytherin, knowing as well as any other the legacy the House had for producing “evil” wizards and witches. But when he sat under the Sorting Hat, and it saw his worry, he sighed relief when the Hat Sorted him into Gryffindor. He looked over to the Slytherin table and saw that Aiah wasn’t pleased about the Sorting, but something in her eyes seemed to tell him otherwise. Camelus went through the school year with the thought that Sirius could attack at any moment, which he did on Halloween. Being only eleven, Camelus attached himself to Adelaide throughout that night while all four Houses spent the night in the Great Hall.

At the end of the year, when Adelaide went after Sirius, Camelus had wanted to tag along, but she made sure that he stayed and waited for her in the common room and he had fallen asleep in a chair by the fireplace. That summer, Camelus had kept in contact with the friends that he had made during the school year and looked forward to the World Cup that England was hosting. He was caught up in the excitement, like all the others that were there at the camp grounds, and was nearly trampled by running wizards and witches when the Death Eaters attacked, but was spirited away by Artemis with the portkey the family had used to get there.

Second year began and Camelus watched with fascination, along with the school, as the Triwizard Tournament went through the whole school year. He wasn’t stupid enough to attempt to enter, having seen Fred and George put their names in and come out looking like old men. He did participate in their betting for each of the trials, though. He won some money from it. When the year ended, and Harry saying that Voldemort was back, Camelus believed him while the rest of the wizarding world in England didn’t. He saw it as betraying a friend’s trust, especially after seeing Harry’s reaction when he returned with Cedric’s body at the end of the third task.

That summer, Camelus was kept with an escort wherever he went, even to his muggle friends’ homes, and it was usually Adelaide he went with since Aiah had begun changing her personality even now. Camelus went with his family to Number 12 for the Order meetings since Dumbledore recalled it into action. When the school year began, Camelus came to hate Umbridge even before she finished her little speech at the Beginning of Term fest. He did what he could to defy her without getting caught, though he did have detentions with Umbridge whenever she caught him. He bares the scar on his hand that says “I shall not cause trouble” to this day, though it’s faded in time.

He had wanted to join the DA when he heard about it, though Adelaide didn’t want him to. But being in his third year at Hogwarts, Camelus argued that if he was old enough to be tortured by Umbridge, then he was old enough to join the DA. He learned more in the DA than he did in the three years of Defense class, with the possible exception of Lupin’s classes. But he wasn’t a part of the group that went to the Ministry, but heard about the battle when he heard that Adelaide was in the Hospital wing. When it was clear that there would be another Wizard War, Camelus began packing up even before his parents told him and his sisters that they were moving into the wizarding community. The move from an ordinary muggle house, though with changes to suit a wizard family, into the old O’Neal home, being that the family line’s as old as the Blacks in England, Camelus felt like the ancestral O’Neal home was well lit compared to the families that were known to be involved in the Dark Arts.

Now at the beginning of his fifth year, Camelus faced the Carrows as professors, or Amycus since Camelus didn’t take Muggle Studies, and Snape as headmaster. With Slytherins given near free reign of the school and the three adult Death Eaters ruling over all, Camelus wondered if there was ever hope of defeating Voldemort. Though he had heard his parents talking about sending him over to America to his relatives to finish his schooling there, Camelus refused saying that he was already involved in the war here and didn’t want to worry about if his family was dead or not.
