THE ONLY ONE WHO'S EVER KNOWN
THE ONLY ONE WHO'S EVER KNOWN
ohi, my name's namehere. look, i've been walking on this world for agehere, and i'm pretty talented for someone who's been in this game for only timeRPing. to prove that to you, here is a sample of my lovely work:
Andromeda had had enough that day. She'd had relative after relative probing into her life, asking questions and coaxing her into giving away details about her privacy. She hated them. She hated them all. She wished that Sirius was still part of the family, and that he'd have been able to come too. But he had recently left to live with his best friend, the Potter boy, who Andromeda wasn't entirely fond of, but was positive was better than the Black family. She missed him. But she would be able to see him very, very soon. All she had to do was wait another few hours, and she'd be free to do what she wanted.
That was, perhaps, the only thing that kept her going that day. She was going to see Ted that very evening, and she was going to marry Ted that very year, and they would have a family and a home and she would be away from the clutches of her parents. She'd watched and wondered how Narcissa could cope- Bellatrix looked positively mutinous throughout the whole tea party, and Andromeda wondered how her elder sister had managed to keep it together too. That was probably the only thing they had in common that day, really. The fact that neither of them could stand tea parties.
Narcissa had thought it was brilliant. She did the whole pretty, pure girl thing very well, and had been lucky to snag herself a man that she actually liked. Andromeda, however, felt very protective over her little sister- she didn't like Lucius Malfoy. He was arrogant, snobbish and too fond of himself for Andromeda's liking, but, then again, Narcissa could handle that. Narcissa, herself, was like that. Perhaps the two of them would get along very well after all. She pushed the thoughts of her sisters' relationships from her mind throughout the day, trying not to think of the fact that she would probably never see her sisters weddings, their children- her would be neices or nephews- and tonight could be the last time she ever saw them again. Unless, of course, their bond was stronger...
Narcissa was more likely of the two to remain in contact with Andromeda. Perhaps she would forgive her foolish middle sister and at least be on letter-writing terms, even if they didn't see each other. The letters didn't even have to be regular- they could be on occassional correspondance. But Andromeda doubted that this would happen, especially if her sister did marry Lucius Malfoy. Given the choice between her sister and the man of her dreams, Narcissa would definitely be choosing the latter, whether or not Andromeda was a traitor. Narcissa was the little romantic of the family, after all.
Bellatrix, on the other hand, would probably attempt murder. She would certainly never see Andromeda again, and any possible correspondance was likely to be telling Annie how much she hated her, how much she wanted to kill her and specifics as to how this would happen in the very near future. Insults would be thrown around like confetti and everything would be dramatic, violent and horrific where Bellatrix was concerned. It was not her parents Andromeda was afraid of- as far as she was concerned, they weren't really her parents anyway- it was Bella. Bella and her powerful violent habits. The manic tendancies and the strange dark arts she had learnt since becoming a Death Eater. Those people were the worst influences one could have, Andromeda had decided. And Bellatrix was so deep in that circle now that she couldn't be saved. Andromeda needed to survive anything Bellatrix threw at her tonight, and that was the reason her wand was kept safely in her pocket as she sat down in the drawing room with her mother and elder sister.
For a while, she merely stared out of the window. She cast occassional, irritated glances at the front page of the Daily Prophet, watched her mother leafing through pages of a novel and shot glares when Bellatrix summoned a book, discarded the book and then proceeded to mope and sulk. She detested that trait of her sisters- her inability to cope with anything she deemed mundane. The melodrama was something Andromeda just didn't like. She turned back to stare at her lap, lost in her thoughts but quite happy to be there. She wasn't bothered that there was little to nothing to do that evening and contented herself with listening to the rustle of pages from her mother's direction.
Her ears pricked up when Narcissa entered the room, and she watched her youngest sister from the corner of her eye, though made no move to greet her. Cissy tried to attain Bellatrix's attention, and virtually failed, so began to sulk just as much. It seemed Bella's comment had shut up the youngest Black sister, though Andromeda wondered how long it would be before the conversation took a turn towards the Malfoy heir. It was a fact that Narcissa liked to bring up whenever she was in the same room as her mother and sisters, perhaps for revenge and to tease them. After all, her family didn't know about Ted, and Bellatrix looked ready to kill whenever relationships were mentioned. Andromeda knew full well why this was, mind.
Druella, meanwhile, ignoring her daughters, had finished the chapter of the novel she had been reading and placed it down. Andromeda looked over when she heard the gentle thud of the book being dropped onto a coffee table and caught her mother's eye for a brief second, before she turned away to stare out of the window again. She didn't want to start this now. Not now. A few more minutes...But she would have to tell them eventually. She would-
Ah, there it was. But this time, it was Druella who hammered home the fact that only her youngest was doing well in the love department, though love didn't really have much to do with it. Andromeda was surprised and glanced to Narcissa, to see how she would take it that she hadn't been able to mention Lucius Malfoy first.
"Narcissa, have you been in touch with the Malfoy heir- Lucius- recently?"
At this, Narcissa gave an enthusiastic nod and Andromeda took this as her cue to switch off. She felt a smirk creeping onto her face and looked up at Bellatrix, watching her eldest sister for signs that would give away how the elder Black sibling found the topic of Narcissa's relationship; they both knew, after all, that next it would be onto Bellatrix's potential in the marriage market.
